Monument in Gdynia

Monument in Gdynia

Monument in Gdynia is not the best description you say? Well, there is not much more information I could get about that even though I was visiting Gdynia with locals. The only thing they could tell me, is that it comes from the communistic times. Close to it is the Joseph Conrad Monument, but I doubt that they are connected. Maybe you can help me with some information?

University Library in Gdańsk

University Library in GdańskSo far that has been the most interesting modern Library building I’ve seen. I was passing it every morning for two weeks on the way to my language course and I was always wondering what the 3 little “turbines” on each side are for. One day I went in to check it out, and can you believe it? They are three “single reading rooms”, where you can take your books, close the door behind you and have calm space to read. How cool was that idea of the architect?

Fishermen in Gdansk

Fishermen in GdanskWith that one I got lucky. First of all: A nicely colored sunset. Second, Fishermen for something interesting in the front. Third, the green “Island” on the left (which isn’t an island, the boat was taking it out later back to the sea. Guess it just drifted to the port.). And all that in front of the famous riverside of Gdansk.
