The Lustschloss (or: Pleasure Palace) on Peacock Island was built in the late 18th century and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage today. Everything on the Island was built for Friedrich Wilhelm II./III., and it was used as a summer residence. Today you can easily visit the Island, which is a great thing to do when you’re in Berlin. There is a small ferry setting over each half an hour and on the Island there are not too many people. So you can enjoy the nature, find wild running peacocks and wonder about the architecture.
