Castello Scaligero – Sirmione

Castello Scaligero – SirmioneThat photo is taken from the old town of Sirmione. Castello Scaligero is what separates the old town from the shore. The whole area is incredible beautiful, only the masses of tourists have been disturbing. I guess next time we have to get up earlier in the morning.

Lustschloss on Peacock Island

Lustschloss on Peacock IslandThe Lustschloss (or: Pleasure Palace) on Peacock Island was built in the late 18th century and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage today. Everything on the Island was built for Friedrich Wilhelm II./III., and it was used as a summer residence. Today you can easily visit the Island, which is a great thing to do when you’re in Berlin. There is a small ferry setting over each half an hour and on the Island there are not too many people. So you can enjoy the nature, find wild running peacocks and wonder about the architecture.
