Off the tourist routes in Prague

You probably know that. You’re on a trip in some amazing city, you know which places you have to visit or else you will feel like you’ve missed out on something. But on those places are just so many tourists. So sometimes you get off the track and are alone surrounded by beauty. That’s why me and my girlfriend are doing such “trips off track” on purpose and that’s how we ended up in this small street in Prague.

Prague from Chotkovy sady

Prague from Chotkovy sadyChotkovy sady is my favourite place for an overview over the city of Prague. You wonder why? Well, first of all you have this amazing view over the city. And second, even more important, most of the time you can enjoy this view without having any people around. Even on New Years Eve, there was only one family standing there apart from us, enjoying the fireworks over the Old Town.

Fireworks over the Rudolfinum in Prague

It was quite a bit of luck involved to get this picture of the fireworks over the Rudolfinum in Prague (Praha). We just went down to the bank of Vltava to take a picture of the Charles Bridge. Once I was done with that, my girlfriend thought that it would also be a nice position to capture the Rudolfinum. So she used my camera, brought it in the right position and started taking the usual three photos for the HDR. The camera managed to take two of the pictures and then the fireworks started and we’ve had the camera in the perfect position.
To process the picture I took two shots without fireworks and one with the fireworks in it and put them together in Photoshop.
