As you probably know, cars are a very rare thing in Venice. So instead you take these luxury gondolas to get from A to B. Just kidding, it’s obviously used more as a tourist rip off, but anyways, without them Venice wouldn’t be the way we know it.
Happy 2013 my dear followers! I want to start the new year with a photo from Italy, as that has been my best vacation in the last time. And who knows, maybe in 2013 I’ll find some time to go back there?
Here you see the Piazza delle Erbe in Verona, the tower is called Torre dei Lamberti (construction started in 1172). During the time of the Roman Empire this square was the town’s forum.

The Arco della Pace, or Arch of Peace, is a city gate of Milan. It’s dated back to the 19th century and is supposed to remind the European Peace of 1815. Originally it was supposed to honor Napoleon but during the constructions he lost his Italian empire.
