As you’ve noticed, there have been a couple of days without photos, and I owe you an explanation for that. This blog was over the last months a great way for myself to get feedback about my photography and develop my skills. But know I feel that I have to make the next step. Therefore I’m currently busy reconstructing the website, to offer you even better photos and much better content apart from that. Stay tuned and feel free to follow me on Twitter to stay up to date when the new site is launching!
To the photo: January 2013 wasn’t the best month for outdoor photography so far. It was grey and sad, I never saw a bit of sun until last Friday. Then immediately I took my cam and went to the lake (it seemed like everybody with a camera had the same idea). Luckily the lake was still a bit frozen, so it provided a very nice reflection of the sun.
Sometimes I wonder how it would be to live in one of those houses close to the lake. I mean I am happy with our place, we just have to walk 5 minutes and we’re on the lake as well. But waking up in the morning and seeing the water? Must be awesome.
I remember when I was in Prague and friends of mine from London were planning a flight back home, it got cancelled because of snow. Since then I know the definition of snow in London is a bit different from what we have in Berlin. Well, even though it might seem like it, this photo is not taken in London. Not even in England. It’s taken in Berlin, in Tegel at the Greenwich Promenade to be more precise. Reason why we have this phone booth here is the town-twinning with Greenwich.
This restaurant is right around the corner. Even though I don’t really eat fish, it always looks good from the outside, but I never got a nice shot of it. And then it snowed last week, a perfect opportunity I thought. It’s been a Sunday evening; the place was empty without customers possibly due to the heavy snowfall. Luckily they didn’t turn off the lights too early.
