Another photo of the beautiful town square of Świdnica. Notice the narrow house, and imagine applying at a public office to get a building permit for that!
Świdnica is a small town in Silesia and Rynek is the polish word for market. So what you see is the center of Świdnica, a town with a long and complex history, being often part of different countries like Bohemia, Austria, Germany and now Poland.
The Church of Peace in Swidnica is amazingly beautiful. And yet it is hard to caputre it’s beauty as you can’t use a tripod. So i tried my best to keep the cam steady and take pictures from the ground. Unfortunately, the +2EV photo was even more blurry than what came out now, so that’s as good as it got. Still it’s a bit blurry but too beautiful not to show it. Click for more information!
That’s one of the stranger places you come by when you’re also visiting smaller places which are not too popular. This house is to find in Swidnica, Poland. We walked around the town a bit as we had all day to spend there. When we passed the prison, we found that house right next to it. It’s so strange; I just had to take a photo. What do you think is the reason for that look? War?
The Church of Peace in Swidnica (Świdnica, Poland) is one of the two remaining Churches of Peace which belong to the UNESCO World Heritage. From outside it doesn’t even look that impressive on first sight. But that changes when you have a look inside and get to know about the history of the church.
The Church of Peace in Swidnica was built in the 17th century. What’s special is that it is an evangelical church. Why is that special? Click here to read more!
